Local Church My Home, I.N.

I was born in Taipei, Taiwan. In 1993, I came to United States as a foreign student. When I studied at California State University at Fullerton in 1995, I received the Lord.

The believers who met with the local church in Fullerton took care of me very well when I got saved. They called me and read the Bible with me. They also made appointments with me on campus so we could enjoy the Lord together. One Friday, they invited me to their meeting which was at a meeting hall. I came and was expecting that I would see a huge building, a cross, a statue of Jesus, and a preacher, etc. However, I saw nothing except a group of young people singing and praising.

Later on I realized that the church is not a building, but is all the believers in Christ. Wherever I am, I can turn to my spirit and touch the living God (Ephesians 1:22-23). I also learned the secret of calling on the name of the Lord to enjoy His riches (Romans 10:12).

One year later, I found there is a church in the city in which I lived, Hacienda Heights. So, I started to meet in the church in Hacienda Heights. What impressed me is that I didn't feel I was in another place. Later on, I had several chances to go back to Taiwan and meet the believers in Taipei. I still felt I wasn't going to a new place. Every one received me as one of their own family members. They shared with me the Christ they enjoyed.

Now I am still in the United States but I do not feel like my home is so far away. I am not afraid to go to a new place because I know most places I go I will find a local church there.
